Who are we?
Affiliated to the Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM) we are the most northerly advanced motoring group in England. Founded in April 2002 we cover most of Northumberland, being the only group based in the county.
We are also a Registered Charity: number 1107597.
What do we do?
Our aim is to promote road safety and improve driving standards in Northumberland. We do this by preparing our members for the IAM Advanced Driving Test.
By taking the test drivers...
- are more aware of their surroundings and the hazards and situations on the road
- are less likely to be involved in an accident
- are more in control of their vehicle at all times
- get more enjoyment out of their driving
We currently (October 2009) have 51 full members with a further 10 associates working towards their IAM test.
