Observed Runs
After your initial assessment a group observer will be allocated to you who will arrange a series of observed runs in your own vehicle at a mutually convenient time to help prepare you for the test. All our observers are trained volunteers and are advanced drivers themselves. The number of runs necessary is not fixed and depends ultimately on your own current driving standard and your willingness and ability to put any advice and guidance given into practice. However, the IAM does ask that you should be test ready within 12 months of joining. There is no additional fee for these runs as they are included within the Skill for Life package. The group will arrange for a final assessment with a senior observer to ensure all candidates are indeed up to test standard before submitting the test application.
