The Advanced Driving Test
The test itself lasts about 90 minutes and covers all kinds of road conditions and types - motorway, dual-carriageway, urban areas, main roads, country lanes and residential areas. During the test you will be expected to be in full control of the vehicle at all times and be able to demonstrate your skills of observation and planning. You may also be asked to perform some low-speed manoeuvres such as reversing. Although not a compulsory part of the test the examiner may ask you to commentate on your driving for a while to enable him to assess that you are aware of the correct procedures and actions and the reasoning behind them.
